Adam was in a coma after an accident and underwent 25 surgeries from sixth grade to the first year of high school.
He was on the verge of losing his legs and had them amputated. The actor spent some time in a wheelchair and only learned to walk again after two years.
Adam DeVine wanted to be a baseball star while living a regular life as a child until he was hit by a cement truck when he was 11.
When Adam was riding his bicycle across the street with a friend, he was hit by a cement truck before he realized what had happened.

According to The Things, Adam describes the traumatic accident in shockingly vivid detail.
He claimed the vehicle grabbed him under its wheels and spat him out, causing him to slide for almost 500 feet. Adam was fortunate to have survived the accident.
What Happened To Adam Devine Legs?
Adam DeVine was only 11 years old when he was involved in a deadly accident that nearly cost him both of his legs. The incident happened in Omaha, Nebraska, where he and his family had recently moved.
It was the summer before sixth grade, and he had recently established new acquaintances. DeVine and his friends were going to the convenience shop when the unimaginable occurred.
When one of his buddies exclaimed, “Come on!” he mistook it for permission to cross the street while pushing a bicycle.
For two weeks, the actor was placed in a medically induced coma. Doctors discussed amputating his legs when his lung collapsed. DeVine’s parents discovered him in the hospital.
His mother was at the zoo with her friends when she received a notice from the concession booth asking her to contact a specific number, which is how they found out about his hospitalization.
Adam DeVine Underwent over 20 Surgeries
DeVine said he had 26 operations between the sixth grade and his first year of high school.
Furthermore, he could not walk and spoke about his ordeal on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” in October 2019.
Nonetheless, DeVine healed completely and avoided losing his legs. The actor attributes his entry into comedy to an unhappy experience.
Following the incident, he was forced to use a wheelchair, and people mocked him. Because he couldn’t defend himself physically, his father urged him to use words.
In addition, he instructed him to come up with amusing things to say to them. He took the advice and ran with it; no one could touch him.

After going through such a horrible childhood event, DeVine now supports Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
In November 2017, he retold his story to his Instagram followers, revealing his hospital experience alongside a throwback photo of himself on the hospital bed.
