In a new court filing, Angelina Jolie says she will show proof that Brad Pitt has inflicted domestic violence upon her during the ongoing divorce proceedings between the couple.
According to reports, the 45-year-old actress filed documents in court stating that she and her children are prepared to submit “proof and authority” confirming their claims against Pitt.
As noted in the filing, Jolie has agreed to provide testimony, as well as “testimony of minor children.”
The couple has six children together: Maddox, 19; Pax, 17; Zahara, 16; Shiloh, 14; twins Knox and Vivienne, 12.
An insider familiar with the case claims that this is “just another example of Angelina changing the narrative to suit her needs.”
A source familiar with the case tells this is “just another case of Angelina changing the narrative when it suits her.”
The source also pointed out, “Brad Pitt was cleared of accusations of child abuse after an alleged incident between him and Maddox onboard a plane in 2016 was investigated by the FBI and the Department of Child & Family Services.”
The source recalled, “When they first divorced in the fall of 2016 [Angelina] made similar allegations which were reported to the authorities and thoroughly investigated before no action was taken.”
Pitt revealed details about the investigation to GQ Style back in 2017.
He said, “I was really on my back and chained to a system when Child Services was called. And you know, after that, we’ve been able to work together to sort this out.”
Brad added, “We’re both doing our best. I heard one lawyer say, ‘No one wins in court; it’s just a matter of who gets hurt worse.’ And it seems to be true.”
In her interview with British Vogue earlier this year, Jolie spoke candidly about her life at home with the kids at the time. She said that “past few years have been pretty hard..”
The ‘Maleficent’ actress said, “I’ve been focusing on healing our family. It’s slowly coming back, like the ice melting and the blood returning to my body.”
A divorce has been brewing between the former couple since 2016. After more than a decade together and two years of marriage, they officially called it quit in 2016.
