Bishop John General has also been involved in legal troubles.
The Zambia Police arrested him along with his wife, Pastor Maureen Kakwende, and another pastor named Paul Kambazo.
They were charged with theft, a serious offense that could land them in prison.
The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred in March 2016.
A woman named Matilda Mwanza met Pastor Paul Fire, who introduced her to Bishop John General.
He claimed he could cure her toothache and asked her to spend a night at the church.
The next day, Pastor Maureen, the church’s accountant, accompanied Matildah to the bank, where she opened an account and withdrew K40,000.
She was then told to pay K21,000 as a tithe to the church while the ATM card remained in the custody of Pastor Maureen.
Later, when Matildah checked her account, she found no money left.
The trio was arrested on November 15, 2018, and detained in police custody.
They were released on police bond and are expected to appear in court soon.
