Bruno “Pop N Taco” Falcon, the legendary dancer and hip-hop trailblazer, has passed away at 58.
Diana Wolgamott, his sister, clarified to TMZ that he died Saturday at his Long Beach home after a long illness. According to her, his death may have been caused by a heart attack. He died naturally, and an autopsy will not be conducted.
Over the ’80s and ’90s, Bruno was a staple in the dance scene, especially with his style of locking & popping. His role in the cult classic film Breakin as Electro Rock 1 opposite Ice-T made him a star.
His other films include Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, Thumbelina, and even Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker.
In fact, he had a pretty close relationship with MJ, dancing with him for years and appearing in his music videos.
Most people remember him as the dancer on Smooth Criminal who did the famous lean dance. Apparently, Bruno taught Michael a few things about popping and locking. In the ’90s, Bruno, who appears to have served as a choreographer, was with Michael on his HIStory tour.
In addition, Bruno has also danced with other Jackson family members, such as La Toya and Janet. Among other storied artists, he has appeared in music videos for Lionel Richie and Chaka Khan.
Rest In Peace the Breakin Star.
