Born in Kryvyi Rih, he served in the military while pursuing a Kyiv Radio Engineering School degree.
Lisin became a member of the Social Democratic Party of Ukraine (united) in 2001 and held various positions, including serving on the political council.
He was elected to the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament, in 2002.
Lisin co-founded Burisma Holdings, an energy-focused company, alongside entrepreneur Mykola Zlochevsky and held a 50% stake.
In 2005, he joined the Party of Regions and was re-elected to the European Parliament in subsequent years. Tragically, Lisin died in a car accident on April 17, 2011.

Allegations of Bribery Scheme Surrounding President Biden
Allegations of a bribery scheme surrounding President Biden have resurfaced, with claims that a whistleblower provided information suggesting his involvement in exchanging money for policy decisions.
Republican lawmakers, including Committee Chairman James Comer and Sen. Charles E. Grassley, have sought the release of documentation related to this allegation.
However, the evidence remains limited, and no criminal charges or specific investigations have been initiated.
The allegation revolves around an Executive from Ukrainian energy company Burisma, who purportedly offered bribes of $5 million to both Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.
Despite the hype surrounding this claim, there is no evidence of payment of that magnitude to Hunter Biden, and the FBI closed its assessment in August 2020 due to insufficient evidence.
Critics argue that the allegations are being elevated without proper evaluation, fueled by a desire to challenge the credibility of the FBI and Justice Department and to target President Biden.
