Who is Butch Patrick?
Butch Patrick was born on August 2, 1953. His full name is Patrick Alan Lilley. Patrick is an actor and musician. He started working as an actor from the age of seven and went on to portray the role of Eddie Munster in the comedy TV show The Munsters. Likewise, he was a part of the 1966 feature film Munster, Go Home!
Patrick has appeared in many popular TV shows such as Mister Ed, My Favorite Martian, The Untouchables, The Detectives, Ben Casey, and Bonanza. Early life and upbringing
Butch Patrick was born in Inglewood, California. His parents divorced soon after his birth and his mother Patty raised Butch and his little sister as a single mother. In 1962, Patty got remarried to baseball player Ken Hunt. Hunt played for the Los Angeles Angels and adopted both Butch and his sister after his marriage to Patty.
Relationships and dating history
In July 2010, Butch announced his engagement to former cheerleader Donna McCall. However, the couple called it quits just a few months later. After their breakup, Patrick checked into rehab in order to overcome his drug and alcohol addiction. In September 2016, Patrick got married to Leila Murray. They got married at Macon Roadhouse in Macon, Missouri. Leila and Butch were introduced to each other by a mutual friend named George Barris.
Butch Patrick career
In 1961, Paty took her kids to a photoshoot with Hollywood photographer Amos Carr when Patrick was 7 years old. Patty met talent agent Mary Grady who took the photos of both Patrick and his sister and placed the pictures in Carr’s Hollywood Blvd. studio.
A producer noticed Butch Patrick’s photograph and contacted Mary Gardy to cast him in movies, commercials, and TV shows. Mary Grady coined the 7-year old’s stage name by combining his nickname “Butch” along with his first name. Butch had an interview for an ad by Kellog’s Cornflakes and was cast as a child who struggles to read the back of the cereal box.
In 1961, Patrick made his feature-film debut with The Two Little Bears where he appeared alongside Eddie Albert and Jane Wyatt. During the 1960s, Patrick’s career continued to rise. He guest-starred in several episodes of Rawhide, Mister Ed, Gunsmoke, I Dream of Jeannie, The Monkees, and Family Affair.
Patrick’s portrayal of child werewolf Eddie Munster on the CBS television series The Munsters became his breakout role. In 1971, Patrick starred on the psychedelic fantasy children’s program Lidsville which was broadcasted on ABC.
In 1975, Patrick quit acting and learned how to play the bass guitar. He left acting to work for his father and began to learn to play the bass guitar. He formed the musical group Eddie and the Monsters along with many instrumentalists and backup singers and released his song, “Whatever Happened To Eddie?” in 1983. Similarly, Patrick has released many other songs including O.I.O. / I Want Sugar All The Time and Gypsy Rainbow.
