The biggest pop star in the world feels uncomfortable when his relationships get revealed.

¬†Harry Styles, One Direction’s former teen idol and current solo superstar, opened up about his highly publicized and dissected private life. Styles addressed everything from accusations of “queerbaiting,” or representing himself as queer without publicly identifying as queer to his romantic attachment to Olivia Wilde, Styles’ director in “Don’t Worry Darling.”

He, apparently unprompted, discussed people’s arguments about defining what sexuality is.

“Sometimes people say, ‘You’ve only publicly been with women,’ and I don’t think I’ve publicly been with anyone,” Harry said. “If someone takes a picture of you with someone, it doesn’t mean you’re choosing to have a public relationship or something.”

He also referred to the public’s fascination with his sexuality concerning another upcoming film, “My Policeman,” in which he portrays a gay officer during the 1950s.

“I think everyone, including myself, has your own journey with figuring out sexuality and getting more comfortable with it,” Harry spoke of the drama’s universal themes. “It’s not like, ‘this is a gay story about these guys being gay.’ It’s about love and about wasted time to me.”

Harry has previously refused to say how he identifies, telling Better Homes & Gardens last year that it “doesn’t matter” for him to define his sexuality because it is “outdated.” He has been accused of profiting from queer culture, dressing in dresses and skirts, and waving a Pride flag at his concerts without identifying himself as LGBTQ.

Moreover, the “As It Was” singer claimed that fans criticizing his girlfriend on social media “doesn’t make (him) feel good.”

“It’s obviously a difficult feeling to feel like being close to me means you’re at the rasom of a corner of Twitter or something,” Harry says. “I just wanted to sing. I didn’t want to get into it if I was going to hurt people like that.”

Harry’s upcoming film with Wilde is scheduled for release on September 23, while “My Policeman” will be available to stream on Amazon in November. Premieres of both films will take place at prestigious film events before they get released to the general public. The singer is currently on tour with his latest album, “Harry’s House,” visiting New York, Chicago, and Austin, Texas.
