Hulk Hogan Early life and Childhood

Hulk Hogan was born on August 11, 1953, in Augusta, Georgia, U.S. He then moved to Port Tampa, Florida, when he was only a year and a half old.

Hulk played baseball and was rather good at it as a kid. He managed to attract many baseball teams, but he had to throw away his baseball dreams due to his injury.

He attended Hillsborough Community College and the University of South Florida but later dropped out.

All the wrestling and heavy workout affected his back. Furthermore, the wrestler has to go through spine surgery. However, that did not solve his back problems. In fact, Hulk argues that it only made his back worse.

This led him to a medical malpractice lawsuit against the Laser Spine Institute for $50 million. Furthermore, he explained that his medical teams made him undergo many unnecessary treatments. In addition, he revealed that he went through 6 heavy surgeries in 19 months.

Since none of these surgeries helped his back problems, the wrestler decided to look for other options. Furthermore, in December 2010, he went through a traditional spinal fusion surgery which solved his back problems. And he was able to return to his daily physical activities.

As a kid, Hulk used to play baseball. Unfortunately, an injury stopped him from playing the game anymore. Furthermore, when he was 16, he started to watch wrestling on TV as an interest.

After graduating from high school, Hulk went to college. While doing so, he started to have an interest in music. He then dropped out of college to focus on music full-time. This led him to form the band Ruckus in 1976.

When he was free, Hulk began to go to the gym and work on his body. During his visit to the gym, the Brisco brothers spotted him and invited him for a wrestling match. So, after training for a while, Hulk began his wrestling career in 1977.

Controversies including Hulk Hogan

On March 27, 1985, actor and Television host Richard Belzer invited Hulk to his talk show, Hot Properties. Richard then requested the wrestler to show his signature move, but he refused. After continuing to pressure the wrestler, Hulk finally agreed.

But instead of his signature move, he opted for a Guillotine choke which led Richard to pass out. Furthermore, Richard then hit his head which led him to be hospitalized. Due to this incident, Hulk had to pay $5 million for his disruptive behavior.

In 1994, Hulk gave out information regarding Vince McMahon’s steroid smuggling. While under interrogation, the wrestler was revealed to have used steroids himself. After his testimony, Hulk was given complete immunity, although Vince was found not guilty.

In April 2012, a sex video of Hulk and Heather Clem emerged on the web. In addition, Heather was the wife of Bubba the Love Sponge, a radio personality. Hulk then filed a lawsuit against the couple for invading his privacy.

The wrestler won the lawsuit and thus gained $115 million as per the settlement. In addition, he also won a lawsuit against Gawker. Since he was found to have been the one to release the video. Hulk gained $31 million from this.
