Joker, which won an Oscar Award in 2019, will receive its sequel on October 4th, 2024. The sequel is in the works, according to director Todd Phillips. It is titled Joker: Folie à Deux, which means “madness for two.”
This movie is expected to include Joaquin Phoenix, who won the Oscar for Best Actor in the first film. Aside from that, Lady Gaga may appear with him in the future.
Speculation suggests that Gaga may play Harley Quinn, Joker’s longtime partner and that her possible involvement could even lead to more musical elements being incorporated into the film.
Originally intended as a standalone film, Joker’s success at the box office and 11 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, made a sequel inevitable. This is especially true considering Warner Bros. films based on DC Comics have struggled.
A sequel is already being developed for this year’s The Batman, which received widespread praise for success. Unfortunately, it seems Ezra Miller’s solo outing as The Flash has been dogged by problems, and The Suicide Squad flopped last year.
