Jose Maria spent his entire childhood in Mexico City until he was 12 years old, when he and his family moved to San Diego, California, with his family. The family tried to establish themselves in a secure position by moving about frequently, but they kept failing.

Yazpik ultimately had to take up odd jobs and debt to finish his study. After graduating high school, he moved to Tijuana, Mexico, to attend law school. However, during his first year, he realized that he preferred acting to law school and applied to Mexico’s most prestigious acting school.

Yazpik’s perseverance paid off, and he successfully established himself as an actor. After appearing in a few average soap operas, he got his big break in 1998 with his role in La vida en el espejo (1999), where he played a polemical, straight-looking homosexual role.

Jose Maria Yazpik was dating Johanna Murillo, a Mexican actress, and they have a daughter named Leonor. The couple has been happily married for almost 9 years now.

When he was chosen for a prominent role in the drama-romance film “Cara o Cruz” in 2001, he experienced his big break. Unfortunately, the sitcom was only modestly successful, and he appeared in 55 episodes as Armando Pescador.
