Kathryn Harrold was born in Tazewell, Virginia. Her father’s name is B.H. Harrold and her mother’s name is Carolyn Harrold.
When it comes to her high school education, Kathryn graduated from Tazewell High School. After this, she joined Mills College in Oakland, California, and graduated from there with a degree in drama.

Similarly, Harrold also enrolled at the Herbert Berghof Studio in Greenwich Village, Manhattan to study drama. In 2011, she graduated from Antioch University in Los Angeles after which she began working as a licensed marriage and family therapist.

On February 14, 1994, Kathryn Harrold got married to former Democratic Chief of Staff for the Senate Finance Committee, Lawrence O’Donnell, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day.
