Early life, parents, and education

Kathryn Harrold was born in Tazewell, Virginia. Her father’s name is B.H. Harrold and her mother’s name is Carolyn Harrold. 

When it comes to her high school education, Kathryn graduated from Tazewell High School. After this, she joined Mills College in Oakland, California, and graduated from there with a degree in drama.

Similarly, Harrold also enrolled at the Herbert Berghof Studio in Greenwich Village, Manhattan to study drama. In 2011, she graduated from Antioch University in Los Angeles after which she began working as a licensed marriage and family therapist.

Relationships and dating history

On February 14, 1994, Kathryn Harrold got married to former Democratic Chief of Staff for the Senate Finance Committee, Lawrence O’Donnell, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. The couple shares a daughter named Elizabeth O’Donnell. However, in 2013, Harrold and O’Donnell called it quits and went their separate ways.  

Career

Kathryn Harrold rose to prominence after she appeared as the leading lady in Steve McQueen’s last film, The Hunter. After this, she appeared alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in Raw Deal. 

Likewise, Harrold was a part of films such as  Nightwing, The Pursuit of D. B. Cooper, The Sender, Yes, Giorgio, and Modern Romance. In addition, she appeared in a supporting role in the 1985 film Into the Night by John Landis.

In 1976, Harrold stepped into the world of television. She played the role of Nola Dancy Aldrich in The Doctors. She left the show in 1977 after which Kathleen Turner replaced her. The following year, she played the role of a blind psychiatrist in The Rockford Files. 

She also was cast in MacGruder and The Bronx Zoo. From 1991 to 1993, Kathryn Harrold acted in the period drama I’ll Fly Away. She also played the role of Francine Sanders on The Larry Sanders Show. 

Apart from this, Kathryn Harrold has been a part of many popular TV shows such as  Women in White, Vampire, Bogie, Man Against the Mob, Chicago Hope, The Practice, Judging Amy, CSI: NY, and Desperate Housewives.
