A house fire on Long Island killed two brothers, the youngest of them was only sixteen years old, and their parents were admitted to the hospital on Saturday.

According to authorities, a family of four was inside the house on Udall Road in West Islip when the fire broke out just before six a.m.

When they arrived, they noticed that the first and second levels had caught fire.

Furthermore, according to Robert Celeste, the first assistant fire chief for West Islip, two people were trapped on the second level.

The victims were eventually found on the ground floor. Unfortunately, the victims died at the scene from their injuries as soon as they were discovered.

According to fire officials, two brothers, 16-year-old Kyle Dilegame, a West Islip High School football player, and 24-year-old Matthew Kreamer, a former student, did not survive.

Officials said their parents, who are both in their 50s, survived. They were rushed to a local hospital with severe burns and smoke inhalation, but they are expected to recover.

According to firefighters, there were no functional smoke detectors in the house. Whether there were any is still up for debate.

The investigation into the fire’s cause is still ongoing. According to officials, there is no suspicion of crime.
