Lauren Tom is an American actress and voice actress. She was born on August 4, 1961. Lauren has been a part of many TV shows and movies. She has appeared in The Joy Luck Club, Friends, Grace Under Fire, and Andi Mack. Likewise, Lauren Tom has lent her voice in Futurama, Batman Beyond, King of the Hill, and Codename: Kids Next Door.

Early life and upbringing
Lauren Tom was born in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park, Illinois. Her mother’s name is Nancy Dare and father name is Chan Tom, Jr. Both Nancy and Chan Tom were involved in the frozen food business. Lauren’s family is originally from Kaiping, Guangdong, China. Likewise, she also has a brother named Chip Tom. She was raised in a Catholic household despite living in a mainly Jewish neighborhood.
career
She started her acting career at the age of 17 and landed a spot with the touring company of A Chorus Line. Lauren was later cast in the show’s Broadway production. In addition, She won an Obie Award for her portrayal of Connie for her off-Broadway acting. She also starred in the Goodman Theater’s production of ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore.
After this, Lauren appeared in many movies such as Nothing Lasts Forever, Wall Street, See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and Blue Steel. When Lauren was cast as a waitress in the film Cadillac Man starring Robin Williams and Tim Robbins, she appeared as a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.

Lauren Tom was cast in The Facts of Life as Miko Wakamatsu. This started her TV career and following this, Lauren appeared on many TV shows such as The Equalizer, Catfish With Black Bean Sauce, thirtysomething, Quantum Leap, Chicago Hope, Homicide: Life on the Street, Grace Under Fire, Friends, The Nanny, The Middle, DAG, The Division, Monk, My Wife and Kids, Barbershop: The Series, Grey’s Anatomy, The Closer and Men in Trees.
Apart from this, Lauren Tom is also a renowned voice actress. She started her vocal work with the animated series Superman: The Animated Series where she played the role of Angela Chen. After this, Lauren voiced Dana Tan on Batman Beyond, Minh and Connie Souphanousinphone on King of the Hill, Amy and Inez Wong on Futurama, Gizmo and Jinx on Teen Titans, Counselor Chang on American Dragon: Jake Long, Joo Dee on Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Bai Li and Ming on Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness.
