Lou Sulola Samuel was born in Los Angeles on October 9, 2009, to Heidi Klum and British singer-songwriter Seal.

Her dad is of Nigerian roots, while her mom is of German ancestry. Thereby, Lou bears mixed ethnicity. She has two older brothers and one half-sister from former pair Heidi Klum and Italian businessman Flavio Briatore.
