Early life and education 

Martha MacCallum, born Martha Matthew MacCallum, was born on January 31, 1964, in Buffalo, New York, United States. Martha comes from a well-educated family, where her father, Douglas C. MacCallum (1902-2000), was a stockbroker at G.H. Walker and Company and vice-president Prudential Securities. While on the other hand, Martha’s mother, Elizabeth B. MacCallum (1934-2013), was a teacher taught in a public elementary in Wykoff, New Jersey, and Lake Forest, Illinois.

Martha MacCallum spent most of her days growing up in Wyckoff, New Jersey, with her two sisters Jane and Lisa MacCallum. 

MacCallum completed her high school at Ramapo High school in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. After completing her high school degree, Martha then joined St. Lawrence University in the North Country of New York State to achieve her bachelor’s degree in political science. She also studied at the Circle in the Square Theatre School on Broadway, leading her to establish the Miranda Theater Company in New York.

MacCallum’s career 

Before she became a famous news anchor, Martha MacCallum used to work with Dow Jones & Company as an associate in corporate relations. She also worked as a reporter for Corporate Finance Magazine.

Martha MacCallum’s career finally took off when she started to work as a business news correspondent and an anchor for Wall Street Journal Television from 1991 to 1996. During her time in Wall Street Journal, MacCallum worked on Business USA, The Wall Street Journal Television, and World Market Outlook. 

After leaving Wall Street Journal in 1996, Martha joined WBIS-TV, a sport and business station in New York. She worked as an anchor and reporter for WBIS-TV.

MacCallum then joined NMC/CNBC, where she contributed to shows like Today Show, CNBC World, The News with Brian Williams, and BC affiliates as to their reporter/ anchor. She later became co-host of CNBC’s show called Morning Call with MacCallum and Ted David. 

During that timeline, Martha also appeared on Checkpoint, a show that examined homeland security and the War on Terror. Soon after appearing in Checkpoint, Martha also created her series called ‘Inside the Business’ for Business Center, a former CNBC show. 

Martha resigned from CNBC and joined Fox News in 2004. The news anchor currently still works for the news channel.

Martha first hosted The Live Desk from 2006 to 2010 and then America’s Newsroom from 2010 to 2017 for Fox News. 

In 2017, she started hosting a show called the First 100 days, where she focused on the Trump administration’s first 100 days in the office. Through the show, Martha wanted her show to be a vehicle for holding Trump and his administration accountable for what they have promised to his voters during his election campaign against Hillary Clinton.

In April 2017, the first 100 days were rebranded and named The Story with Martha MacCallum due to its success and a huge fanbase.

Martha MacCallum collaborated with Ronald J.Drez to write a book called Unknown Valor: A Story of Family, Courage, and Sacrifice from Pearl Harbor to Iwo Jima in 2020. Martha and Ronald had written the book in honor of the 75th Anniversary of one of the most critical battles of World War II, where MacCallum’s uncle Harry Gray had lost his life. In the book, Martha paid tribute to the men who sacrificed their life at Iwo Jima to defeat the Armed Forces of Emperor Hirohito.
