Elon Musk says he and his partner, Canadian pop musician Grimes, have “semi-separated.”
While they “still love each other, visit each other frequently, and are on good terms,” the SpaceX and Tesla CEO told Page Six that their careers kept them apart for significant periods of time.
Grimes hasn’t said anything about her relationship with Mr. Musk.
The pair began dating in 2018, and their first kid, X Æ A-Xii, was born in May of that year.
Mr. Musk stated that the couple intends to continue co-parenting their child.
Mr. Musk told Page Six, “It’s basically because my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling internationally, while her work is primarily in LA.” “She’s staying with me now, and Baby X is in the adjacent room.”
Earlier this month, the two were last spotted together exiting the Met Gala. Grimes walked the red carpet alone, but inside the event, she was joined by her billionaire partner.
Mr. Musk was formerly married to Justine Wilson, a Canadian author with whom he has five sons: 17-year-old twins Griffin and Xavier and 15-year-old triplets Damian, Saxon, and Kai.
He was also married twice to Talulah Riley, a Westworld actor. They married for the first time in 2010 but divorced in 2012. After reconciling a year later, they remarried in 2013, only to divorce again in 2016.
