Curtis “C.J.” Harris, a former contestant on American Idol’s thirteenth season in 2014, died at 31. He suffered a heart attack on Sunday night, after which he was immediately rushed to the Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper, Alabama.
Unfortunately, the American Idol singer couldn’t make it. An official from the Walker County Coroner confirmed his death.
Harris competed in the American Idol in 2014. He auditioned singing the Soulshine by Allman Brothers. CJ Harris finished in sixth place. Moreover, he developed a friendship with Darius Rucker.
Before that, he auditioned for The X-Factor and The Voice but failed. It was on American Idol he made his mark and rose to prominence because of his performance.
Curtis “C.J.” Harris started playing guitar when he was a kid. Interestingly it was a broken guitar with only three strings, but it was more than enough to get interested in music.
Additionally, he was also part of the church, where he learned to play the piano.
Fans of the show and Harris have expressed their sadness and condolences on social media.
