Chris Hemsworth at High Risk of Alzheimer
Actor Chris Hemsworth has recently revealed that he plans to slow down his acting career but not retire despite discovering that he has a high risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease in the future. While he has four upcoming projects, including a sequel to “Avengers” and a biopic about Hulk Hogan, industry insiders have noticed that his schedule is becoming much clearer beyond these films. According to an anonymous source, “He doesn’t plan to take on many roles because of [learning about his high risk for] Alzheimer’s.” Despite Hemsworth’s statement to Vanity Fair that he’s “not talking about retiring by any means,” he’s taking a more measured approach to his work.

Hemsworth, 39, discovered his higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease while filming “Limitless,” a docuseries for National Geographic and Disney+. Though it’s not a diagnosis, the news is a significant sign that he is more likely to develop the disease than most people. The actor noted that learning this information made him want to take some time off.
“I’ve been completing the things I was already contracted to do. [After that,] I plan to go home and…to have a good chunk of time off and just simplify. Be with the kids, be with my wife.” says the actor.
Hemsworth has three children with his wife, Elsa Pataky: India, 10, and twins Tristan and Sasha, 9.

Since the news broke, Hemsworth has received an outpouring of support from fans. Many have sent well wishes to the actor, expressing hope that he remains healthy and cares for himself. Some have also pointed out that Alzheimer’s disease can strike people much younger than many realize, making the news all the more significant. Hemsworth, for his part, seems to be taking the news in stride, having adopted a healthier lifestyle to mitigate his risk of developing the disease. However, despite his positive attitude, he has also spoken candidly about his fears, admitting that forgetting his wife and children due to the condition is one of his biggest fears.
While it’s clear that Hemsworth is taking his health and well-being seriously, how this will impact his career in the long term remains to be seen. While he has made it clear that he does not plan to retire, he also wants to be more selective about the roles he takes on.
