Dave Chappelle is a successful and controversial stand-up comedian. His SNL gig polarized viewers. He received a mixed reaction; some loved and praised his jokes on Kanye West, Kyrie Irvin, and anti-semitism, while others were furious. He again went on to joke on touchy subjects like trans people during his Netflix comedy specials Sticks and Stones in 2019 and The Closer in 2021.

In March 2022, he was attacked by a knife-wielding audience member who admittedly said Dave’s past comment triggered him.

In 2022 Chris Rock became the center of the headline after he was slapped by Will Smith when he cracked a joke about his wife. Will Smith, however, apologized to Chris and his fans.
