Andy Cohen and John Mayer
During the Watch What Happens Live special episode, John Mayer and Andy Cohen got into a rather interesting conversation. John was seen flirting with Andy. He smirked and said, “I sent you a video message from a sauna the other day.”
Andy replied, “I messaged you back writing, ‘I love it when you message me from the sauna.'” They continued the conversation in a fashion that seemed like they were hinting something was happening between them.
It sparked rumors that perhaps Andy Cohen is the gay partner of John Mayer. However, both denied have denied it and confirmed that they are nothing more than best friends.
In an interview with CNN, Andy said, “Listen, we have a very sweet friendship, and we are together all the time. I think that I was not surprised because we also have a great love for each other. So, it just seems like an obvious assumption.”
Perez Hilton says I made out with John Mayer
In 2020 John Mayer gay rumors started to surface after Perez Hilton wrote about kissing the famous musician in a club.
In his memoir, TMI: My Life in Scandal, Perez Hilton said he kissed John Mayer.
To elaborate, in 2007, Perez went to a nightclub after co-hosting MTV’s New Year’s Eve. In the club, he ran into John Mayer, who was with his girlfriend, Jessica Simpson, in the VIP area.
He writes that John leaned in and said he likes to watch gay porn. Additionally, John said that Brent Corrigan is his favorite gay porn star and that “He really turns me on.”
He adds recalling Mayer stuck his tongue in his mouth m while Simpson covered her face with her hair and, according to Hilton, “Everything happened very quickly after that. John leaned in close and pushed his tongue into my mouth, and before I knew what was happening, he was full on making out with me. For a moment, I was completely paralyzed, but then I decided to play along,” Perez writes. “But as John and I made out, I kept glancing over to Jessica, who was staring at us, frozen. She blushed when our eyes met, and quickly covered her face with her brunette hair (she was brunette at the time). After that, she sat with her head bowed and began massaging his d–k with one hand. John groaned quietly as he kissed me, but I was just trying to work out what was going on. Not long after, he leaned back on the couch with a satisfied look on his face. He turned and gazed affectionately at Jessica, who didn’t seem to know whether she was incredibly embarrassed or really turned on.”

Even Mayer mentioned the interaction in an interview with Playboy in 2010. The singer said, “I remember seeing Perez Hilton flitting about this club and acting as though he had just invented homosexuality,” “All of a sudden I thought, I can outgay this guy right now. I grabbed him and gave him the dirtiest, tongue-iest kiss I have ever put on anybody.”
“I don’t think my mouth was even touching when I was tongue kissing him, that’s how disgusting this kiss was. I’m a little ashamed. I think it lasted about half a minute. I really think it went on too long.”
John admitted he never had sexual intercourse with a man but doesn’t care about “anything other than energy.” He confesses that he has seen photos of men on the internet that he found sexier than pictures of most women.
