Nick Carter makes counter allegation on rape charges accusers

Nick Carter is filing a lawsuit against the rape accusers for defamation and extortion. He has made counter-allegations that the woman, Shannon Ruth, has been lying to damage his reputation and blackmail him for money.
The lawsuit he has filed against Ruth is for USD 2.35 million. According to it, The BackStreet Boys member claims that Shannon Ruth and Melissa Schuman orchestrated a sexual misconduct conspiracy for monetary gain.

In December 2022, Shannon Ruth and her attorneys held a press conference where she accused Nick Carter of raping her when she was just 17 on a tour bus in 2001. She claimed that Carter allegedly ordered her to perform oral sex on him.
According to Melissa Schuman, Carter sexually assaulted her when she was 18 years old in 2017. Schuman is the band member of the early aughts pop group Dream.
The counter allegation of Carter says that it is a five-year conspiracy staged by Melissa Schuman and her father, Jerome, so they can extort money from him. Furthermore, he suggests that they are taking advantage of the #MeToo movement.
Additionally, he points toward Ruth’s continued changes in the “story.” Carter says that someone sexually assaulted her, but Schumans has influenced her to inflate her allegations. As a result, she accuses him. He also mentions that Ruth waited for years before reporting the incident, and even after that, an independent investigation resulted in no criminal charges.
According to him, the prior attempt to extort money from him failed, and her civil attorneys abandoned the case when presented with the cold, hard facts.
His attorney, Michael Holtz, stated to TMZ, “As our Counterclaim sets out in detail, Nick has been the target of a malicious and long-running conspiracy. He has never done the outrageous things of which he has been accused; in fact, he is the victim of a calculated and concerted disinformation campaign designed to destroy his reputation.”
Holtz continues, “He looks forward to setting out the truth, vindicating himself in court, and putting an end to the smears and attempted shakedowns for good.”7
