Royal Correspondent discloses the reason for the British Family’s Silence on Prince Harry’s memoir.

After Spare, the memoir of Prince Harry, was released, it sparked a lot of controversies for the Royal Family. Regardless, the response was a wall of silence, a strategy the royal family chose. It left the media clueless as they were itching for a reply. Media loves controversy.

However, Valentine Low, a royal correspondent and the author of Courtiers: Intrigue, Ambition, and the Power Players Behind the House of Windsor, may know why the King decided to stay silent. 

 In an interview with PEOPLE, she says that British Royals want the whole controversy to fizzle out asap, and the best to do it is to ignore it. However, they know that any statement will only prolong it. She said. “They wanted it to calm down as soon as possible. The longer it goes on, the less hope there is for reconciliation.”

A source close to the royal household informs that of all the family members, William is the one who is the most upset. Therefore, he will need some more time to calm down. Further, discussions are underway regarding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reconciliation with the Royal Family. They want to bridge the differences.

Right now, the family is looking forward to the coronation of the new King of the United Kindom, King Charles, and speculations if the Prince and his wife will attend it. 

As far as Prince Harry is concerned, he gave a mixed response stating, “There’s a lot that can happen between now and then. But, you know, the door is always open. The ball is in their court. There’s a lot to be discussed, and I really hope that they are willing to sit down and talk about it.”

A source close to the royal household says, “It is such a momentous occasion for Charles, and he would want his son to be at the coronation to witness it.” Moreover, if the issues are not resolved, history will remember him as the King that “left his family disjointed.”
