Time magazine names Volodymyr Zelensky Person of the year

During the war, it was normal for the top leaders to run away; some leaders stood their ground and fought against tyranny. One such leader is Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Time magazine named the Ukrainian President “Person of the Year” on December 6, 2022. It will come as no surprise to many who support Ukrainian in this war.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy was requested to leave Ukraine during the war, but the brave leader refused to leave Kyiv at the outbreak. Let us tell you that it wasn’t like he was away from the battlefield and things were normal in the Ukrainian capital.

Russia ensured to drop bombs and attack Kyiv. Additionally, it tried to take the capital but failed miserably. The former comedian rallied his fellow citizens and traveled around his war-torn country. Like a true leader, he wasn’t even afraid to visit the frontlines and confront Russia’s UN representative.

Time’s acknowledgment includes “Zelenskyy’s success as a wartime leader has relied on the fact that courage is contagious. It spread through Ukraine’s political leadership in the first days of the invasion, as everyone realized the president had stuck around,” Time wrote in acknowledging the 44-year-old leader.
