As per court documents, on Wednesday, the 50-year-old pop star filed a lawsuit in San Juan, Puerto Rico, accusing his nephew Dennis Yadiel Sanchez of attempting to “assassinate” the singer’s reputation.

All the fans were surprised by the claim that his nephew filed against the singer first, which revolved around accusations that the Latin music icon was romantically involved with Sanchez and harassed him after their relationship ended.

A restraining order against Martin was issued in July after Martin’s nephew claimed he suffered from domestic abuse and incest at the hands of the singer and said the singer victimized him.

The attorney for Martin denied the accusations, saying they were “disgusting” and “untrue” and that the accuser had been diagnosed with “mental health challenges.”

Indeed, Martin’s case against Sanchez was successfully dismissed. However, according to the latest legal action taken by Martin, Sanchez didn’t stop there.

During the month following the withdrawal of Sanchez’s restraining order, Martin claims that Sanchez bombarded him with text messages.

The 21-years-old then threatened to hurt his reputation and integrity if he did not cough up some money within one month of the restraining order being withdrawn.

Before claiming incest and domestic violence against Martin, Sanchez boasted that he was Martin’s nephew. A steady stream of direct messages poured into the paperwork for four months, sometimes more than ten per day.

Martin claims that the messages were sent by a “maladjusted individual,” who also leaked Martin’s phone number on Instagram and created fake accounts of his children.

Ultimately, Martin claims that he has lost multimillion-dollar deals because of Sanchez’s allegations.

Now, he is seeking $20 million in damages, as well as compensation for the sense of unsafeness he has experienced in Puerto Rico due to Sanchez’s allegations.

Martin said last month, “It has been so painful. It has been devastating for me, for my family, [and] for my friends, and I would not wish this upon anybody.”

The singer added, “To the person …. claiming this nonsense, I wish him the best, and I wish he finds the help so he can start a new life filled with love and truth and joy, and he does not hurt anybody else.”
