On the one-year anniversary of Eddie Van Halen’s tragic death, Sammy Hagar and Eddie Van Halen’s widow are paying respect to the late rock icon.
Sammy shared a black-and-white photo of EVH strumming his guitar in mid-air while thrashing his long hair. Sammy, who was a member of the group, “”I can’t believe it’s been a year,” Van Hagar, who was in the band from 1985 to 1996, remarked. The man is no longer with us, but his music will live on #forever.”
Eddie’s widow, Janie, also paid tribute to her husband, saying she thinks about him every day. She said his grin, laugh, and kindness are among the things she misses the most.
Janie added, “I miss this, I miss us, I miss you, and I try my best to carry on the way you would want me to. But my Peep, some days, that’s really hard to do. This will never get easier because there really is no getting over you.”
The news was first reported by TMZ… Eddie passed away after a lengthy fight with cancer. He died in a Santa Monica hospital, surrounded by Janie and Wolfgang, his son. Valerie Bertinelli, Eddie’s ex-wife, and Alex, Eddie’s brother and drummer, were also present.
Speaking of Wolfie, he also shared a photo of himself playing guitar with his father on Instagram. According to Wolf, “Even though you fought so hard for so long, you were taken away. It’s just so unfair.”
Eddie was 65 years old at the time.
