Sarah Mathers was born in 1982 to Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr. and his second wife. The name and whereabouts of Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr.’s second wife are unknown.
After leaving Eminem’s mother, Debbie Nelson, he married Sarah’s mother. Debbie (15), and Marshall Bruce (22), were musicians in a Daddy Warbucks band. The duo traveled around to earn a living.

Although Sarah always knew that she had another brother, her interest in him grew when a family member commented that her brother Michael had features similar to Eminem.

“I’d known all my life that I had another brother, but Eminem? They had got to be kidding. I giggled at the thought of it, then went back to join the rest of my family.”
Furthermore, Sarah was not the only person who had heard that comment from the family member. She revealed that her father, Bruce, had also listened to the statement. He had even agreed with the resemblance.

After the revelation about her connection with Eminem
After finding their connection with Eminem, Marshall Bruce and both of his children tried contacting him. Bruce told Mirror newspaper that he had tried to search for his first son for years. But, it wasn’t easy due to his constant movements.
He said,
“I desperately want to meet my son and tell him I love him; I’m not interested in his money. I want to talk to him. I want him to know that I’m here for him if he lets me back in his life.”
However, Eminem did not believe his father’s statement. Instead, he felt betrayed as his father only contacted him after he was shot to fame. He revealed to the Mirror newspaper that he regularly wrote letters to his father when he was young, but they were returned unopened.
He said,
“My father? I never knew him. I heard he tried getting in contact with me, but not now. I never got one letter. I never got anything from him, and I think he could have at least wrote one letter.”
Like Eminem’s father, his two children from his second marriage also tried to reach Eminem. Sarah Mathers stated that she has written him several letters and called him dozens of times. But, she has never received any response.
