Much like Spider-Man, Tom Holland knows how important concealment is-and in real life, it’s essential to his romantic relationship with Zendaya.

Four months after they first sent our universes into a spin by confirming their relationship, Holland revealed their relationship in an interview with GQ. The couple made waves in early July when pictures showing a little PDA went public.

“One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore,” Tom said to the publication. “And a moment you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world.”

Despite rumors suggesting that they had been dating since they starred in their first Spider-Man film, Homecoming, in 2017, they hadn’t photographed until this summer.

There is plenty of evidence that the two have remained close since then, and Tom explained that he is careful not to reveal details of his private life.

“I’ve always been really adamant to keep my private life private,” Holland said. “Because I share so much of my life with the world anyway. We sort of felt robbed of our privacy. I don’t think it’s about not being ready. It’s just that we didn’t want to.”

Zendaya expressed the same sentiment about their blossoming relationship, telling GQ, “The equal sentiment [we both share] is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments or things, you wish were your own.… I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other.”

They are working hard to keep details of their relationship under wraps, but fans can expect endless displays of support between them. Following Tom’s GQ cover debut on November 17, Zendaya reposted it to her Instagram Stories the same day, adding a little heart-eyed emoji.

In fact, love is in the air.
